Bayanihan is a Filipino term taken from the word bayan, referring to a nation, town or community. The whole term bayanihan refers to a spirit of communal unity or effort to achieve a particular objective. This good custom is widespread in the Philippines, in fact many ethnolinguistic groups have their own term for "bayanihan".


It is still alive on modern days especially when riding a jeepney. When someone wants to pay their fare and you unintentionally helped them pass the fare forward.

But this lady took bayanihan beyond imagination. She took her co-passenger's fare and unconsciously gave her change back. She just realized when it was already done.
